Awards And Resignations

06 / 04 / 2017 - League Table Adjusted In Due Course

There seems to be a pattern occurring with the player of the month awards, as the same names are starting to crop up each time!
Elis Povey picked up the award for January and Shaun Roberts bagged the prize in February. This was Shaun’s second award of the season and Elis had missed out narrowly twice already too! Rhodri ‘Figo’ Owen, Ioan Gwynedd (skinny) and Adam Jones were all players who had a good start to the year but either game time, training sessions or bookings went against them! There were also a few candidates for the March player of the month but in the end Figo edged out Shaun Roberts and Rhys Davies to claim his third monthly award!
Last week saw Blaenau FFestiniog Reserves officially resign from of the league. It’s fair to say they have struggled since re joining the Gwynedd League and it’s just a shame they couldn’t see out the final couple of months to complete the season. This will mean that the league table will be adjusted (with quite a few teams seeing their goal difference shrink!). The table also shows Bethesda Athletic on -1 points! This is because the club have been deducted 3 points for non fulfilment of fixture. ( this has happened again last weekend so watch this space!)

Player Of The Month

19 / 01 / 2017 - Wet December Limits Chances

Congratulations to Rhodri ‘Figo’ Owen who picked up the player of the month for November. His two man of the match awards and single goal netted him the prize for the second time this season!
With many games postponed over December, Shaun Roberts was awarded player of the month for his man of the match performance, commitment and dedication on and off the field!

Da Iawn Hogia!

October Player Of The Month

22 / 11 / 2016 - Its Not Skinny

The player of the month for October was Young Ben Jones! His two assists, one man of the match and three ninety minutes games (along with his training attendance) was enough to see him pip club’s talisman Ioan Gwynedd to top spot! Elis Povey was in third place with one assist and man of the match award.
Da Iawn Ben!

Club Latest

22 / 11 / 2016 - On The Move

There have been many ‘ins’ and ‘outs’ over the last month, so here’s a little catch up on the coming and going!
Goalkeeper’s Stuart Williams and Julien Leek have left for college and work in France respectively. Both have signed and Stu’ will be available during the academic break and Julien towards the end of March. (Who thought you would ever see the words Stu’ and academic in the same sentence!!)
Young attacking left sided player William Jones has transferred out to Talysarn Celts. William started brightly during pre season but thought that he had a better chance of a starting role with Celts. We wish him well and hope to see him back one day as he is a very promising player for the future.
Strikers, David Jones and Ian Darwood have both picked up injuries and have not featured for the last four or five weeks. We wish them both a speedy recovery and a return to match days.
Recent signings are Gwion Evans and Rob Howorth. Gwion is a central defender who comes from the Aberystwyth area, but studies at Bangor University and Rob is back at Uni’ and re signs having played a handful of games at the back end of last season. His energy and versatility will be great addition to the squad.
Jac Evans is another addition, and has already chipped in with a couple of goals! Jac returns to Caernafon after a few years away at college.
Sam Markham has also left to work in Croatia during the Ski season but should return at the beginning of March.
Gethin has another player transferring In during the next week. The player in question is an attacking midfielder and has been training with us for a couple of weeks but we will not name him as the transfer has yet to be finalised with his current club.
A quick mention must go to the youngsters who have stepped up from u16’s level, Ben Jones, Tomos Morgan and Tomos Sion. All three have settled in well and have featured if not shone in most matches. Tomos Sion has been unlucky not to feature as much as the other two but his attitude has been excellent and I’m sure it will only be a matter of time before he gets more game time!

Player Of The Month

12 / 10 / 2016 - Chris Pipped To The Post Once Again

The September player of the month was Rhodri Owen (Figo). His two goals, two, three assists and three 90 min matches saw him beat Chris Harding to scoop the award.
Chris who also came second in August had stats of two goals, one assist, one clean sheet and three 90 min matches. Third time lucky Chris ?!
