August Player Of The Month

02 / 09 / 2016 - Training Is Vital

Congratulations to Tomos Owen who is the first ever player of the month! His 4 games of 90 minutes , two clean sheets and one m.o.m award along with his effort in training pipped Chris Harding and Adam Jones, second and third respectively .
Match stats alone had Chris leading the way, that was until his training attendance set him down a place!!
Just goes to show......TRAINING IS IMPORTANT!!

Pre Season

12 / 08 / 2016 - Say Hello Wave Goodbye

As usual, the pre season has seen many ins and outs, but on the whole Gethin Green and his assistants have been very pleased with the training sessions and friendly matches so far.
Last season’s Top scorer Dylan Hughes has moved to Welsh Alliance side LLanberis and Guto LLywelyn has joined up with the reserve side! Kevin Barlow has moved to LLanrug Utd who also play in the Welsh Alliance league and Dewi Clark and Meurig Parry have joined their reserve team! Jac Dallen has moved further away (London now) and Arwel Evans has not committed to the club due to work and travel issues. Both goalkeepers are college bound, but Stu’ has signed and is available for the first few weeks. Gethin Green, Dafydd Parry and CainThomas are all still long term injured players and we still wish them a speedy recovery. We too wish the outgoing players well and hope to see them playing for the Beganifs once again in the near future.
Experienced goalkeeper Gerallt Bracegirdle re joins the club, as do David Jones and Rhys Davies, who both have had playing experiences with Caernarfon Wanderers and Nantlle Vale respectively. Striker Adam Jones also re joins after a brief spell at neighbours Bontnewydd. A huge bonus this season has to be the youngsters that have signed for the club. The have all trained and settled brilliantly and when asked, played really well. (sometimes out of position)
The squad so far:
Gk: Stuart Williams, Gerallt Bracegirdle
Def: Chris Harding, Mathew Pearson, Aled Evans, Tomos Owen, Tomos Evans, Rhys Davies, Jordan Jones, Tomos Sion
Mid: Marc Greasley, Rhodri Owen, Ioan Gwynedd, Sam Markham, William Jones, Elis Povey, Ben Jones, Tomos Morgan, Iwan Evans, Jac Davies
For: Shaun Roberts, Adam Jones, David Jones, Ian Darwood
Good luck to Gethin and all his squad. Let the season begin!

** Tomos Muller, Tomos Caradog and Tomos the tank engine are yet to sign and Tomos Cook is on holiday**

Trophy Night

12 / 08 / 2016 - Osian Sweeps Up...the Glass He Smashed

We finally held our presentation night last month, and our evening in the Celtic Royal Hotel was a great success. The delay was due to the heroics of the Welsh National team at the European Championships, so it was definitely worth the wait!
Once again, the committee were applauded on their hard work and time as were Aron Morgan and Gethin Green for their efforts on running the team. Lyndon was thanked for his hard work even though he has ‘left’ his managerial position and the players them selves were thanked for their services through was what to be a very tough season.
The following awards were handed out on the night for individual winners:
Top Goal scorer: Dylan Hughes
Most M.O.M: Ioan Gwynedd (skinny)
Clubman of the year: Stuart Williams
Most Improved player: Tomos Owen
Players Player: Marc Greasley
Managers Player: Rhodri Owen (figo)
Osian Owen was also handed a small token gesture for being supporter of the year once again!!
Da iawn pawb!

Pre Season

07 / 07 / 2016 - Friendlies Confirmed

The new pre season has started with a decent turnout at Aberforeshore last week. Training will be held there every Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6.45pm, and all new players are welcome to join in.
Gethin and Lyndon have now confired the friendly matches to take place and boy are they good!!
Maes Glas (Bangor University) will be the first venue on July 23rd, where we will take on last season champions Felinheli, followed by a midweek trip to reformed Bethesda Athletic, who are basically last seasons succsessful LLanfair P.G Res side. We then travell to LLanfair P.G to face the Welsh Alliance Division one Club before finishing against a youthful Porthmadog Res Side ( managed by our ex player Sion Eifion Jones).

Roll Of Honour

18 / 06 / 2016 - End Of Season Round Up

Congratulations must be given to the club for having a steady season after all the problems that we had in the first few months. Player availability was an issue through out the campaign and it is something the club will address in the forthcoming pre season. Although we lost out on another trophy, again it was a great achievement in reaching the Bob Owen Memorial Shield final.
We must also congratulate the winning teams on their victorious season. CPD Felinheli completed the double after winning the Gwynedd Meditel Cup and then finishing as champions of the Gwynedd league. We all wish them well in their new adventure in the second division of the Welsh Alliance league next season.
LLanystumdwy had another impressive season. They finished runners up to Felin’ and won the NWCFA Intermediate cup in style with a 3-0 win against a good Llandudno Albion team from the Clwyd Premiere league.
Menai Bridge Tigers had a large strong squad, and it was no surprise for them to finish in the top three and also grab some silverware. They lost out to Felin’ in the Meditel cup final but of course scraped a 1-0 victory against ourselves in the Bob Owen Memorial shield.
It looks like Cemaes Bay will also be promoted to the second division of the Welsh Alliance league. Their joint third finish was a great achievement in their opening season in the Gwynedd league and if so, we again wish them all the very best in their new adventure.
Bontnewydd came out of nowhere to win the Safeflue shield final against a good Aberffraw team. Berffro were playing catch up all season with games in hand and by playing three a week by the final month, I think they just ran out of steam by loosing the final 3-1.
All teams competing must be congratulated on completing the season and making the Gwynedd league a competitive competition. Good luck to all next season!
Also a quick mention for our old opposition Trearddur Bay Utd, who won the Welsh Alliance Division One title. Many of their players played in the Gwynedd league in the past few seasons, so it just goes to show with some hard work and dedication ( take note Waun’ players ) you are rewarded with great achievement. Many congratulations to Mark Williams, Gwilym Owen and all at Trearddur Bay Utd.
